This position will be responsible for overseeing the company’s materials management practices, including the development of logistics, warehousing and inventory management standards, policies and procedures, monitoring implementation and providing expert functional support to our global operations. This position will collaborate with technical support for the integration of the company’s supply chain and systems with the goal of delivering a seamless solution that will support efficiency. Also, drive continual improvement with respect to the above job scope and as a part of this accountability, he/she will oversee the supply chain analytics.
The Director is a leader of Supply Chain improvement initiatives, systems implementations and Master Data Management. This position is responsible for:
Leading a team for systems implementation across Nabors.
Maintaining error free item master.
Ensuring accurate vendor setups is in compliance with regulations.
Ensures that the accurate business requirements are collected, design documents reviewed and testing efforts are successful. This position will be responsible in ensuring the systems meet the Supply Chain requirements of Nabors and procedures are always updated to include the best practices. This position will provide subject matter expertise, set deadlines, assign responsibilities and monitors and summarizes progress of projects. This position will also be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of Master Data for catalogs and Item Master. This position ensures that the vendor set-ups are compliant with regulations and follow a controlled qualification and induction process.
In addition, this position provides analytical and vendor services support for the PSC department and is responsible for the following:
Development and reporting performance metrics.
Create and communicate project reports to management to provide visibility on initiatives.
Shown ability to generate results through process change and thoroughly leading people to deliver results.
Perform advance analysis as required by the department.
Provide guidance and QA/QC for analysis and documents prepared by the analyst team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Structures and executes multiple complex analyses such as life cycle costs and economic value simultaneously.
Recommends and implements business process redesigns to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
Lead cross-organizational business teams to identify, quantify, and implement business process redesign.
Provide analytical support to strategic sourcing and purchasing teams.
Gather and coordinate the internal audits, business unit procurement audits, external audits and Sarbanes-Oxley audits.
Oversees the Procurement & Supply Chain Management policy & procedures for compliance.
Design / improve the materials management for the company leveraging best practices from the drilling industry and other industries.
Continue to develop logistics, warehousing and maintenance policies and procedures to promote the implementation of best practices.
Monitor the implementation of policies and procedures in all regions.
Continue to implement a performance management system for materials management and maintenance (selection of KPIs, definition of targets, performance monitoring).
Manage all US outbound logistics operations.
Previous management and cross-functional team leadership experience.
Completion of complex analytic tasks.
Thorough understanding of how sales/marketing people work.
Develops and executes negotiating strategies in anticipation of supplier sales strategies.
Ability to work in ambiguous matrix environment.
Aggressively leads the implementation of savings opportunities that affect multiple business units and functions.
Oversees the business analysts providing support to the group.
Supervises subordinate personnel including: hiring, determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance, and initiating corrective or disciplinary actions.
Acts as a resource to provide information or determine the most effective way of meeting the needs of management, staff, clients or customers.
Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards & guidelines, etc.
Reviews and/or inspects end products for quality, accuracy, and completeness.
Analyzes, summarizes and/or reviews data; reports findings, interprets results and/or makes recommendations.
Reviews documents and reconciles discrepancies; makes needed adjustments.
Sets goals, establishes priorities, manages resources, and develops concepts and approaches, reviews projects progress and results; makes management decisions.
Auditing of vendor processes, capability, and performance.
Identify and lead continuous improvement process.
Ensures data/KPI reports are released timely.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in business management; Master in Supply Chain, MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
Management experience required.
Demonstrated track record managing inventory, logistics and overall supply chain process improvement.
8+ years’ work experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain, procurement or related field.
Experience in drilling and/or oil and gas preferred.
Outstanding cross-functional leadership and communication skills; willing to challenge the status quo and make difficult and unpopular decisions, communicating effectively with senior management of all business units.
Ability to build credibility, get buy-in and commitment with internal and external stakeholders.
Skilled at coaching, mentoring and developing talent.
Strong background in finance (understanding financial statement, valuation, present value concepts, etc.).
Ability to negotiate complex deal structures in a team environment incorporating both internal and external parties.
