Our client based in London is looking to recruit a technical manager to be based out of their office. They currently operate a busy short distance ferry service in London.As a technical manager you will be responsible for the technical upkeep of the ferry service assets and their safe operation through the provision of 1st line mobile technical and engineering support for vessels and plant. You will have a good understanding of planned maintenance procedures and be able to work to tight deadlines and budgets.You will be competent in technical report writing and have prior knowledge of using planned maintenance software as well as excellent management , supervisory and organisational skills as you will be required to oversee multiple contractors on occasions with safety paramount at all times. You should also be able to demonstrate solid experience in remote monitoring, fault diagnostics& resolution and have experience with PLC systems.Knowledge of dry docking preparation and a proven track record in the delivery of projects and experience in running trial of vessels would be highly desirable.To apply for this role you will need to hold the following minimum qualifications:You will hold as a minimum an Engineer officer of the watch unlimited certificate / with a HND in Marine / Mechanical Engineering or equivalentSTCW 2010 CertificationValid ENG1UK OR EU passport holderThis role is based in central London and suitable candidate will need to live local to the area – no relocation package is available nor at the company able to assist with sponsorship.The opportunity for an Engineer looking for their first shore based positon is available for the correct candidate.
