Steam OperatorPublished 2nd October 2018Location North Sea, United Kingdom Job Type PermanentCategory Engineering OfficerJob Reference STEAMOP/AHVessel Type FPSOQualification Requirements Steam EOOW CoC, ENG1, STCW, Security Awareness etcDescriptionSteam Operator required for a leading independent oil and gas development and production company based in the North Sea.The Steam Operator would be responsible for ensuring the main boilers on deck are operated to maintain high efficiency in production of steam for the turbine generators.Specific duties include:Control and monitor the operation and integrity of the steam plant and its utility systemsCarry out soot blowing and other boiler maintenance operations as are requiredControl fuel allocation for efficiency and costEnsure adequate stocks of Boiler treatment chemicals on-board: carry out tests on boiler water, fuel etcMonitor and control the quality of the water from the evaporators and storage conditionsOperation and checks on HVAC SystemsMonitor operation of inert gas plant regarding fuel quality (O2 levels)Carry out quality checks on water, diesel, and lubricating oilsMonitor and maintain inventory/stocks of water, diesel, lubricating oils, etcMonitor bilge water levels within engine room and pump room spaces; discharge through overboard oil in water monitoring systems or to holding/slop tanksPrevious Offshore experience is essentialRotation is 3 weeks on/offCompetitive SalaryExperience Required Candidates must have experience with steam plant, steam turbine generators, cargo pumps and 1st line maintenance and monitoring of utilities equipment used within the process and marine systems.
