We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Drilling Engineer to join our client in London on a contract basis for 12 months.Responsible for provision of well engineering for the project.Ensure HSE requirements are integral to all aspects of well design and well operations.The role is based within the business unit offices in London with international business trips.Lead the Drilling Engineering input to the well design and operational planning to deliver the required wells programmes in accordance with the policies and procedures and the Well Engineering Management System.
Key Accountabilitie

Ensures HSE is at the highest priority in all elements of programme deliveryEnsure all FIG regulatory requirements are clearly understood, communicated and met.Overall responsibility for well planning, cost reduction initiatives and drilling engineering. Including casing design, hydraulics and fluid optimisation (mud and cement), drill string analysis, conductor design and fatigue analysis, etc.Own and deliver detailed Basis of Designs for all well types.Monitoring of contractor operational readiness, equipment manufacturing and acceptance testing.Deliver operational programmes for drilling operations.Assist in the contracting process for wells based equipment and services tenders.Input into technical requirements for on-Island based infrastructure including service and support for the drilling programmeSupport logistics personnel to map out Wells requirements for optimal delivery of equipment and tangibles. Provides input to team and well engineering delivery objectives as necessary.Assist in managing the overall Wells schedule and communicating updates to the business unit and project personnel.Ensure well materials and service providers comply with specified quality assurance requirements.Develop and assist in the contracting of Wells services, development of scopes of work, and evaluation and recommendations to award.Assist in the management of the service contracts and contractor performance process.Lead well and operations hazard assessments and HAZOPs. Compile well risk register and well barrier review.Major Challenges Liaise with sub-surface personnel to ensure reservoir requirements are delivered.To interface with the subsea (HXT/WH) team to ensure completion requirements are fully integrated into the HXT designs.Build effective relationships and interact professionally with internal/external stakeholders and service companies.Management of remote infrastructure and operations .Financial accountability / activity indicators N/A Reporting and management relationships Reporting to: Drilling, Logistics and Infrastructure Manager or delegate ‘Qualifications A University degree in an engineering discipline, preferably in mechanical or petroleum engineeringValid IWCF well control certification.Valid offshore survival certification. Candidate Profile/ Skills / Experience:Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a drilling engineer with operating companiesExperience in well operations from a semi-submersible and drilling horizontal development wells.Preference for knowledge and experience in supporting operations in remote locations.
