This role will be responsible for the day to day operational leadership and direction of a team of Wellsite Operators, accountable for wellsite activities relating to the operation of wells and the associated gathering systems.The role will have a strong focus on production optimisation of the team and the wells within their geographic area of responsibility. Under the direction of the Wellsite Supervisor you will need to lead, organise and monitor wellsite operations with a team of dedicated Operators.
Day to day operational leadership and direction of a team of Wellsite Operators, with a focus on building a team culture committed to achieving safe and optimised production ensuring the following takes place:-
• Quality of well heads and valves by a process of routine inspections;
• Information from wells and gathering systems is gathered on time and accurately;
• Consumables and spares stock for wellsites and equipment are maintained, tracked and procured to required levels, and coordinate required logistics support for wellsite production activities;• Materials transfers are complete; and,
• Wellsite and gathering system vegetation control and other general tidiness is of an acceptable standard
.• Oversee and monitor all maintenance of wells, to encourage maximised availability of gas producing wells.
• Monitor production trends and identify improvements (in consultation with the Wellsite Supervisor), that support safe and more productive wells
• Act as an escalation for production issues as they arise, providing coaching and mentoring for less experienced operators.
Superior skills across communication, leadership and teamwork are crucial. You’ll also need broad knowledge of relevant regulatory conditions and gas well production and be committed to behavioral based safety awareness. We are looking for a lead who is willing to learn and able to drive performance through their team.
It is essential you are competent in the operation of the gas engines, hydraulic motors and pumps used in the oil and gas industry. Experience in the safe handling of hydrocarbons and in working under relevant regulation and safe operating standards will also be required. As will experience in Instrumentation and measuring principles and practices, Operation and maintenance of gas compression equipment, Experience with mechanical operations and a Permit Authority Certificate would be desirable.
Your specialist knowledge of the policies and procedures relating to Gas Well Site regulatory conditions and, sound regulatory understanding and ability to develop an operational awareness team culture are crucial. You will have outstanding skills in time management, communication, problem solving, leadership and influencing. You will also be capable of building effective relationships with a variety of stakeholders including staff, contractors and external suppliers
We are looking for an assertive and motivated individual with a successful track record working in gas operations in the oil, gas, Energy industries in Australia.
The role will suit some local to Chinchilla or the surrounding areas. The work is carried out on a 15 days on 13 days off rotation.
