Responsibilities
Responsible for moving the rig safely from one location to another location.
Responsible for all aspects of jack-up rig movements, including, jacking, mooring, towing, afloat, stability, seaworthiness, navigation, appraisal of weather and passage planning.
Review the planned routing and highlight any shallow patches, underwater obstructions or hazards to navigation that may lie in or in the proximity of the intended towing route.
Ensure that the rig is ready for the tow by inspecting the tow vessels / AHTS, the sea fastening, mooring systems, tow equipment and arrangements, stability and load distribution and watertight integrity plan.
Positioning details of the new location, platform configuration if applicable, details of position tolerances and potential platform interference.
Responsible for controlling the movement and actions of all vessels associated with the rig move operations in consultation with the OIM.
Prepare a detailed Rig Move Report covering all events that occurred during the rig move operations.
Ensure overall safety rig move activities where all Company’s safety policies are adhered to.
Any other tasks as instructed by the Company pertaining the rig move activities.???
Requirements
Educational Qualifications
Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Rig Mover in the Marine environment.
Unlimited Foreign Going Master Class I (Master Mariner) Certificate of Competency issued by United Kingdom Department of Transport or equivalent qualification.
Appropriate trade qualifications.
Relevant Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in Rig/Barge operations.
Familiar with Baker Marine Jack up Pacific 400 / 375.
Familiar with the rig move for Petronas in Malaysia water.
Computer literate
