Job Responsibilities:

Manages, directs and supervises the engineering, execution and maintenance employees within the drilling department.
Reviews and approves well plans for drilling.
Monitors reports from rigs for quality control and directs corrective action to deliver enhanced efficiency, and reduced well time and cost.
Provides continuous improvement through project completion to optimize operating efficiency.
Acts as key contact for service contractors on performance-related issues and maintaining relationships.
Leads well design review and risk analysis meetings; ensures effectiveness of design and follow company standards.
Ensures successful execution of health, safety and environmental programs.
Monitors overall drilling costs, safety, and environmental performance.
Qualification Profile: Education and Work Experience:

Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university and a minimum of ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and Enterprise Resource Planning software’s such as Enertia and SAP
Knowledge and Skills:

A proven track record drilling wells with experience in exploration and production.
Horizontal and directional drilling experience in both conventional and unconventional environments.
Robust knowledge and experience in project management, well design, operational support, contracts & procurement as well as rig site supervision.
Experience leading project teams and mentoring junior engineers.
Experience working in Mexico or Latin America.
Bilingual (English/Spanish).
Strong leadership skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong teamwork and meeting facilitation skills.
