Supervise/review/conduct the inspection of drilling equipment, tools and OCTG to :

Latest Edition of TH Hill DS-1®, (Drill String Inspection) requirements
and /or OCTG threading, make up, OD/ID assemblies, sliding/interference fits, connections, weight, grades and
and/or contractors/vendors in house procedures
and /or industrial standards
and /or COMPANY Group Specific Operating Instructions/Standards.
Supervise/review/conduct (only if required) the inspection, servicing, functional check, pre- shipment checks on :

Drilling Specialty Tools such as rotary steerable system, downhole motors, MWD/LWD equipment, jars, under reamers, cementing equipment, etc.
Tubular running and handling equipment i.e tongs, slips, elevators, packers, etc.
Well Testing and Clean Up equipment’s i.e. surface and downhole DST tools,
Coiled Tubing Equipment
Completion Equipment, including and not limited to, packers, SCSSV, GLM, BPVs…etc.
Lifting and handling tools i.e slings, shackles, pad eyes, etc,
Valves and packers i.e sub surface safety valves, bridge plugs, etc,
Wellhead and trees i.e surface and subsurface system,
Drilling tubulars i.e DP, HWDP, DC, etc.,
BOPs and Drill Through Equipment,
Drilling and Well Intervention Hoisting Equipment,
Liner Hangers Equipment and accessories,
Heavy Lifting Equipment i.e crane, forklift, etc.
Supervise/review/conduct (only if required) onshore inspections of OCTG (Carbon and CRA Casing/Tubing) to Industry Standards API 5CT, 9th Edition; API Spec 5CRA and API RP 5A5, latest edition if applicable in order to verify that the individual joints are in satisfactory condition for shipment offshore and installation in the well. Scope of inspections can include but may not be limited to the following:
Visual Thread Inspection
Full Length Drift (API)
Full Length Tally
Internal/External High Pressure Water Jetting
Electromagnetic and/or Ultrasonic Pipe Body Inspection
Magnetic Particle Inspection or Dye Penetrant Inspection of Connections
Removing/Installation of Thread Protectors, Cleaning Threads, Application of Storage Thread Lubricant
Special End Area
Non Destructive Hardness Testing (NDT)
Supervise/review/conduct (only if required) the onshore inspections of Drilling Tubulars (Drill Pipe, HWDP and/or Drill Collars) to the Latest Editions of Industry Standards API Spec 7-2; API RP 7G-2; API Spec 5A5 and TH Hill DS-1®, 4th Edition, Volume 1 (New Pipe) Category 5 and/or Volume 3 (Used Pipe) Category 5, and/or Volume 3 Category 3-5 for HWDP and Drill Collars and finally Volume 3, HDLS for Landing Strings in order to verify that the individual joints are in satisfactory condition for use in drilling operations on the well. Scope of inspections can include but may not be limited to the following:

Visual Thread Inspection
Tool Joint Dimensional Check (Dimensional 2 for Drill Pipe, 3 for BHA components)
Backlight Connection
Internal/External High Pressure Water Jetting
Magnetic Particle Inspection or Dye Penetrant Inspection of Connections (Slip and Upset Areas)
Electromagnetic and/or Ultrasonic Pipe Body Inspection for remaining body wall thickness
Thread Profile Gauge
Pipe OD Gage
Re-facing of damage shoulder seal of Drill Pipe
Straightening of Drill Pipe
Non Destructive Hardness Testing (NDT)
Supply and Apply or Re-apply Hard Banding
Heavy Lift critical component design review and material strength verification of all components in the load path including downhole, surface string components, and rig lifting/supporting gear.
Supervise/review/conduct (only if required) the onshore inspections of Drilling Specialty Tools to Industry Standards API RP 7G2; API Spec 5A5 & TH Hill DS-1®, 4th Edition, Volume 4, Category 3 – 5 in order to verify that the individual joints are in satisfactory condition for use in drilling operations on the well. Scope of inspections can include but may not be limited to the following:

Visual Thread Inspection
Tool Joint Dimensional Check
Internal/External High Pressure Water Jetting
Magnetic Particle Inspection or Dye Penetrant Inspection of Connections (Slip and Upset Areas)
Electromagnetic and/or Ultrasonic Pipe Body Inspection
Thread Profile Gauge
Non Destructive Hardness Testing (NDT)
Supervise any regular maintenance and/or repairs on tools that failed inspection.

Attend morning operations meetings to be aware of current drilling activities and issues when and if possible.
Meet as needed to work specific job/operation/equipment issues.
Identify problem areas and offer solutions.
Establish inspection callout procedures.
Work with COMPANY DTQR, Engineers and Superintendents on inspection requirements and acceptance criteria.
