Job Summary Provide support to Managed Pressure Drilling Operations worldwide. Work with Rig Teams when installing MPD equipment to assure compliance with Company policies. Work with Customers to design their planned MPD operation while assuring compliance with Company policies. Provide oversight and support for the execution of the Customer’s MPD programs Job Description DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFully knowledgeable in all aspects of MPD operations on floating drilling vessels. This includes expert knowledge on all possible equipment configurations, available MPD software and the application of all different types of MPD (e.g. constant BHP, controlled mud level drilling & pressurized mud cap drilling) Provide MPD SME technical assistance to the Company’s project teams during the installation of MPD drilling systems on floating drilling vessels Work with external Customers to develop the planned MPD operational program. This will include addressing all aspects of MPD well control including the development of an agreed Influx Management Envelope Prepare, update and maintain MPD related Corporate manuals and policies Work with individual Rig teams to develop Rig & operation specific MPD procedures Examine Customer’s well construction progress by reviewing daily drilling reports to assure the proposed MPD operation is being executed properly and well control is being maintained. Provide technical assistance as necessary . Make Rig visits prior to and during the MPD operational phase to (a) audit MPD readiness and (b) ensure all MPD related lessons learned are captured and implemented into future operations Support other Company special projects and Customer well construction projects as required Provide support for MPD, well control and well construction based in house trainingProvide support to other Operations Assurance functions as requiredQUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION:Bachelor of Science Engineering degree or equivalent preferred.EXPERIENCE:Minimum 15 years Oil industry experience with a Drilling Contractor, Major Operator or MPD service Company, with roles in both office environments and offshore on DP drilling vessels. Extensive experience with MPD operations is essential. Training in Drilling Engineering, Drilling practices, and Well Control is required.SKILLS:Computer literate including a high level of competence in Microsoft Office. In relation to Managed Pressure drilling operations, must be highly knowledgeable on offshore drilling procedures and practices, drilling engineering and well control operations. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare operational procedures, policies and manuals.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be a team player. Self-motivated, highly organized, capable to travel worldwide including offshore (estimate 25% travel).BUDGETS:N/AINGENUITY:Must be able to analyze and provide independent technical solutions to all MPD well design and well construction issues in a timely manner.DECISION MAKING:Must be able to make decisions about his/her work and to work independently, communicating decisions to his / her supervisor.
