About the Role:
Woodside are entering an exciting time of growth and are looking for a Drilling Engineer to support our world-class portfolio projects, developments and operating assets. The Drilling engineer supports the senior and lead engineers in delivering high quality engineering input across exploration, development and producing wells.
Based from out state-of-the-art offices in Perth, Western Australia, you will join a high performing team, and interact with a range of internal and external stakeholders including rig contractors, equipment suppliers, as well as internal engineering disciplines.
This is a permanent staff role, based from our Perth offices.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Supporting Senior and Lead drilling engineers, you’ll get exposure to a range of development opportunities to take your career to the next level. You’ll get exposure to the full lifecycle of Drilling Engineering from early stage design input, equipment specification and selection, through to operations. Some of the responsibilities of this role include:

Ensuring the highest standards of safety in all work undertaken
Casing and conductor design and installation
Cement design and placement
Barrier design and application
Well trajectory design and control
Drilling fluids selection and surveillance
Application of geomechanics data in well design
Drilling Optimisation
Well head design and selection
Well control
Cost estimating
Preparation of drilling programs
Performance analysis
Contract preparation and management

Skills & Experience:



Degree qualifications in Engineering are mandatory
Demonstrate a commitment to HSE strategy and supporting HSE KPI’s
Demonstrated experience within the Oil & Gas sector
Some experience with an Owner/Operator environment is highly desirable
You’ll also bring excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as this role will see you interacting with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
Ideally you will have had exposure across the drilling lifecycle, from early design through to operations.
